Cha Domitila Pottery Centre
The Cha Domitila Pottery Centre and Ethnographic Museum keeps the legacy of traditional pottery production on the Canary Islands alive. This tradition dates back to the pre-Hispanic inhabitants of the Canary Islands and employs techniques from the Neolithic period, more than 7,000 years ago.The collections at the Museum showcase the different types of traditional earthenware and also provide insight into rural life on the Canary Islands. These artefacts bring us closer to a society that fought to survive by cleverly using the scarce natural resources available on these volcanic islands.
