The "heath land hike" is about ancient farm land and former heath lands, that have been massively planted with softwood for the past 100 years. The heath lands were vital for the agriculture for many centuries. Sheep that provided fertilizing manure, could graze there. The heath lands stretched as far as the eye reached. The heath however, became superfluous to farming, and the wild lands were explored or afforested.
