Welcome to this virtual Jane’s Walk featuring some of the murals on buildings on, or near,  20th Street in Riversdale, Saskatoon. Jane Jacobs said this about neighborhoods and I believe Riversdale fits this description:“...frequent streets and short blocks are valuable because of the fabric of intricate cross-use that they permit among the users of a city neighbourhood.” ― Jane Jacobs, The Death and Life of Great American CitiesMy name is Sheila and on this walk, you will see the murals up close while you hear from some of the artists about how the murals came about, their process, and what inspired them. I’ll also include quotes from Jane Jacobs whose legacy is celebrated with Jane’s Walks in cities all around the world on the first weekend in May each year. Here, in Saskatoon, we hope to return to in-person, group walks in 2022.I acknowledge we are on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis.
