Departure: From the parking of the town hall, (place Alexandre Gratte).The origins of the village lie on the border with Seclin. Excavations have revealed the existence of an urban center organized and constituted between the 1st and the 4th century AD.The Gallo-Roman agricultural habitat is the first trace of Noyelles. The discovery of a rare talisman representing the god Mercury, attests to a place of passage and trade at the beginning of our era.The first textual mention dates from 875 under the name of "Nivilla". The grand-daughter of Charlemagne Gisele, known as the wife of Evrard Friuli (end of the 9th century), founder of the abbey of Cysoing, owned a manse (farm) and twelve bones of land.At the end of XIth century, it is under the name of "Nigella" then "Noielle" as of the XIVth century.In the 18th century appear indifferently "Noyelles en Mélantois" and "Noyelles-Les-Seclin.
