The Rocca was built in the 14th century resting, in part, against the 13th-century wall reinforcing the three entrances with towers. The former convent of Sant'Agostino (15th century) is home to the Museo Civico and Diocesiano d'Arte Sacra where,of note, are two 'Madonnas and Child' by Pietro Lorenzetti and Simone Martini, a 'Madonna and Child with Angels' by Il Vecchietta, a wooden sculpture of 'Saint Peter Enthroned' by Francesco di Valdambrino , and a bronze crucifix by Giambologna.
