The walk starts in the former Yeshiva of the Sages of Lublin. Here, at the reception desk of Hotel Ilan, we can borrow keys to visit Lublin's Jewish cemeteries. The old cemetery at Kalinowszczyzna Street, with preserved tombstones from the 16th century and the ohel of Yaakov Yitzhak Horowitz, Tzadik known as the Seer of Lublin, is one of the most historically valuable necropolises in Europe. Despite years of devastation, you will find tombstones of high religious, historical and artistic value. It is the resting place of famous rabbis and prominent representatives of the Jewish community of Lublin. The new cemetery (at  Walecznych Street) was established in 1828 and over 50,000 people are buried here. In 1942, the cemetery was completely destroyed. Today, part of the cemetery is still used for burial, with symbolic commemorations in the remaining area.Walking from the yeshiva to the cemeteries and back, we can visit other important sites for the history of Lublin's Jews.
