Adelaide Vintage Pubs

From corner to corner, the city streets have some of the oldest and best-known pubs and hotels in Adelaide.

Adelaide is often referred to as the 'City of Churches', but it is just as well known as the 'City of Pubs' when you consider the number of pubs that have operated in the city since the early days of the colony.

The self-guided walking tour takes you to the historical buildings where the hotels once traded. Some have survived the test of time but some of them no longer echo with the sound of bar chatter and clinking glasses, no longer emit the smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke and no longer run by bar staff with a raised eyebrow.

Go for a walk, discover Adelaide's vintage pubs and listen to the tales about a different era, and of course enjoy a drink or two at the old pubs and hotels that still stand in the Adelaide City.
