High Heritage: Character in the North

I'd like to begin by acknowledging the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we are today, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.

Everything has a story, its own history; High Heritage: Character in the North exposes the heritage of the Northcote area and reveals the parts of the past that have influenced the present and created the culture we see before us today.

This walking tour highlights specific sites that tell a story about immigration, the growth of Northcote as a township, art and local merchants and how this heritage has contributed to the sense of community with a large focus on art and local produce that is evident in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne today.
