From the ruins of Eldena Abbey to the Rungehaus Wolgast, this 54 km Route of North German Romanticism, passes the important life and motif stages of the early romantic painters, Caspar David Friedrich, Friedrich August von Klinkowström, Philipp Otto Runge and poet Karl Gottlieb Lappe. These original settings include Ludwigsburg Castle, Vierow Harbour and the Rungehaus in Wolgast. Following the Baltic Sea cycle route, information boards at 10 designated stations give an explanation of the art-historical themes and provide a selection of interesting tips about further nature and cultural highlights on and along the route.
