The Modernistic Architecture Tour includes a set of 7 buildings located in the city of Portalegre that mark the architecture of the Estado Novo, a modernism committed to tradition, also known as “soft Portuguese”.The Estado Novo was the authoritarian, autocratic and corporatist state political regime that operated in Portugal for 41 uninterrupted years, from the approval of the 1933 Constitution until its overthrow by the Revolution of 25 April 1974.
