Naryn is the administrative center of Naryn Oblast, the largest and most mountainous oblast in all of Kyrgyzstan. Its the biggest in terms of land mass, it claims the highest waterfall in all of Central Asia - Shaar waterfall.  And it serves as a primary destination for thousands of tourists due to its several alpine lakes - Son-Kul, Kol-Suu and Chatyr-Kol lakes. Naryn also has the longest river in country, the Naryn River at over 800km long.

Today Naryn has a population of about 40,000 people packed in along Lenin Street, a 14 km stretch of road along the valley floor.  Often referred to as the the city of one street, take time in this seemingly simple city to learn of its rich history on this self guided tour offered by CBT Naryn.
