The Pitchi Richi Sanctuary - Cya On The Road

Alice Springs is a sprawling town in the centre of Australia, a five-hour drive away from the World Heritage listed Uluru. It was established in 1871, was originally named Sturt and began as a telegraph repeater station for the Overland Telegraph Line that ran from Adelaide to Darwin. Now it is home to over 26,000 people and is an oasis in the desert.Located just 4km south from the heart of the town is the Pitchi Richi Sanctuary. It is spread across 12 acres of natural bushland and is lush with native flora. It’s considered Alice Springs’ first man made tourist attraction. It is a historically and culturally significant site, with ties to great Australian artists and significant people of Central Australia.
