The small heritage on the boundary of the community of Olne

Olne, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, has a rich heritage. Past centuries have left many examples in Olne. Beside the monumental heritage with its large buildings, small heritage is all around: inscriptions, niches, crosses, water points, portals ... are all precious testimonies to the history of the village, its life, its customs and the beliefs of its inhabitants. The book Olne Le petit patrimoine (Olne small heritage) by Mr. Limet (photos Freddy Creuen) was used as a basis for the survey of the small heritage of Olne. The features of the "small heritage" are especially visible in the centre of the village and in the hamlets. But this exhibition is devoted to the "small heritage at the boundaries of the community"
