The Mile End is a neighbourhood of Montreal, more precisely located in Plateau Mont Royal. In the 50’s and 60’s, this neighbourhood was originally an area where immigrants came from all around the world. It was a welcoming community and is still in nowadays. In fact, the Mile End is a melting pot of many nations. For exemple, the Hasidic Jewish are part of Mile End’s multiculturalism. The community life is really important to the citizens of this neighbourhood, who are really welcoming to the newcomers. That’s the reason why the Mile End is the favorite neighbourhood of Montrealers, it was even elected « coolest neighbourhood in Canada » by the online magazine Travel+Leisure.       The Mile End is also well known for its art. In addition to all of the colourful houses and many art galleries, you can admire the street art and listen to music in the streets. Artists from all around the world share their love and passion for art on the walls of the Mile End. We can add that a lot of music festivals take place in this neighbourhood and that many small bands enjoy playing music on the streets of the Mile End.       On top of that, the Mile End is famous for its delicious food from different cultures from all around the world. If you are visiting the Mile End, don’t forget to pass by the amazing restaurants, bars and cafés. The advantage of this neighbourhood is that you can taste the cuisine from all around the world by crossing a street.      To taste the Italian culture, you can find at St-Viateur West Farine, a delicious Italian style pizzateria,  You can also eat some homemade gnocchis in la Dhrogeria Fine  Don’t forget to stop at the Café Olimpico for the best Italian cappuccinos.      If you are looking for a place to eat and to have fun at the same time, we recommend going to the Ping Pong Club. It is basically a bar with Ping Pong tables. Don’t forget to try their delicious milkshakes and their Mac and cheese.       To enjoy the German culture, the Butterblum will not disappoint at all. This resto-café is really artistic itself and the food is extremely delicious.       Banh Mi Banh Yiu is an original Vietnamese café well known for its incredible service and for its delicious sandwiches. This little café is affordable and the really good food.      Lawrence is a favourite amongst not only Mile Enders, but Montrealers in general, and has been serving up a British-style brunch for 10 years now.      Dieu Du Ciel is the best brewery in Canada, and has been created 1991. It is well known for its beers, that receive awards every year. Besides the beers, you can savor charcuteries and flatbreads.       You must stop by St-Viateur Bagel Shop. This store is emblematic of Montreal’s culture.       All the Montrealers love Kem Coba’s ice cream! Waiting for you are turn is definitely worth it. This glacier has a lot of different flavours.     To take a sip of the Russian culture, you can go to Datcha and to Kabinet, two bars located right next door, creating a two-venue experience on the weekends: dance party with an awesome DJ at Datcha, and sophisticated Russian drinks on the other side                To sum up, Mile End is a multicultural neighbourhood where you can taste food from all around the world. On top of that, it is a dynamic neighbourhood with its art and music and justifies the joy of living in Montreal.     #openarctic
