In 2000, the Botanical Garden dedicated this area to bamboos. Bamboos belong to the same family as wheat.They have no wood and their stems are hollow. They can be used to make fibre and construction materials. Some species eat the young shoots.The collection now includes 70 species with several interesting varieties (utilitarian,rare, threatened, etc.).
