THE "SENTIERO DELLA MEZZADRIA" - Cya On The Road

This path owes its name to what in past centuries was the most common form of land-use in the area, i.e. sharecropping (“mezzadria” in Italian), a past to which several farmhouses and the recently established Museo della Civiltà Contadina (museum of rural civilization) in Fratticciola are testament. Starting from this museum, the path merges into the “Sentiero dei Principi” path (the part of it running along the banks of the Rio di Loreto as far as its confluence with the Mucchia stream). From there, the path meanders its way through cultivated fields, spontaneous hedgerows and oak thickets to Farneta where the superb Villa Petrischio and its extensive park can be seen. From there, the path runs to the wine estate of Capezzine passing through the villages of Cignano and Centoia.
