Montalbano Elicona: a trip back in time to one of the most beautiful villages in Italy

We invite you to discover Montalbano Elicona!This small village is located in the Metropolitan City of Messina and it is famous because it maintained all the features of the ancient medieval villages intact through the centuries. Here you will experience a real and vivid trip back in time among its little alleys and pathways.Did you know that Montalbano is a member of the association “I Borghi più belli d'Italia” (The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy)? Montalbano Elicona is located in the amazing landscape between the Nebrodi and the Aeolian Islands at an altitude of about 900 meters. And it is a place so beautiful and fascinating that it was chosen as the "Best Village of the Villages" in Italy in 2015.Along the way, the towering Castle and the other historical buildings will charm you as well as the atmosphere full of art, history and culture.In the meanwhile, before starting our trip, please have a look at the virtual tour of our beautiful village.  This audio tour has been realized by Marialuisa Calatozzo on behalf of the Messina Tourist Office.
