The Fossils Path - Sentiero dei Fossili - Cya On The Road

The Fossils Path owes its name to the fossil finds that emerge between the sandy walls of the Rocche: shells or their fragments, phyllites (leaves or trunks of fossilized trees), more rarely fish.In fact, the itinerary skirts Caudana, known for the richest fossil deposit in the area: its finds have enriched the collections of the Natural History Museums in the area. It is a very varied route: it crosses the shady wood around the village of Monteu Roero, descends to the bottom of the valley in the direction of the Frazione Tre Rivi, runs along flat areas of orchards and greenhouses and goes up towards the hilltop village among the panoramic vineyards that surround the ancient site of the castle of Pulciano.
