Return to Pagliara

Returning to Pagliara is an invitation to retrace the historic trail that leads from the small town of San Massimo in Isola del Gran Sasso to the "Lake", the church and the ruins of the Castle of the Counts of Pagliara on the hill of the same name (978 m) inside the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park.The work of recovering the trail and making it usable again was done by the migrant guests of the Special Assistance Centre of Isola del Gran Sasso, managed by the Salam association as part of the “Cultural Roots" project for integrated reception and enhancement of the territory.The multilingual audio guide that you are listening to was made by them for migrants, travellers and residents as a source of knowledge and dissemination of the local cultural heritage and in gratitude to the host community.
