Our City of Faith

This exhibition will take you through five themes that illuminate faith and worldviews in our city, Hamar. You will learn about the church's significance in making Hamar the main seat of a diocese in the 12th century and how the city developed socially, religiously, and economically.You will hear about the diversity of beliefs and worldviews you find in our city today. We will highlight the church's role in art, culture, and spiritual life. You will hear about the Pilgrim Center and what kind of trips you can experience right outside your doorstep in Hamar. And finally, we will tell a little about all the buildings that make up our city of faith.The exhibition is curated by Lage Thune Myrberget in collaboration with contributions from several people such as Trond Våge, Roger Andreassen, Ole Kristian Bonden, Inger Haug, Geir Byberg, Tone Stræte, Terje Moshaug, and Guro Vestads.
