WALK THROUGH THE HISTORICAL CENTER OF THE CITY OF CHELYABINSK

Today we are going to walk around the historical center of the city of Chelyabinsk and look at a few unique objects of historical and cultural heritage that have been preserved in the center of our city. These are old mansions and buildings that practically retained their unusual appearance from the time when Chelyabinsk was a small provincial town.On the site of modern Chelyabinsk, the Bashkir village of Chelyabi was once located. In 1736 the Chelyabinsk fortress was founded here and the construction  of the city began.  This territory is part of the cultural layer of the XVIII-XIX centuries.The historic center of Chelyabinsk is the heart of the city, which occupies an area of ​​90 hectares.  It is of great importance for Chelyabinsk,  because the first churches, well-built houses and administrative buildings were built within the historic center and  outstanding personalities lived there.Unfortunately, after the revolution, during the reconstruction  in the first half of the twentieth century, many buildings in the center were demolished. Currently, there are about 118 buildings within the historic center of Chelyabinsk.
