Because on this small island surrounded by water you can learn about the history of Kyshtym!Peter the Great had two great projects. The first was the well-known "Window to Europe"; the second was the creation of industry in the deep rear. Kyshtym is a part of the grand project to create its own metallurgical industry.The history of Kyshtym began in 1755, when Nikita Demidov began building the Upper Iron-Foundry and then the Lower Iron-Foundry Kyshtym Works. And in 1757 both plants produced their first products. This year is considered the date of foundation of Kyshtym as a mining settlement.
