Water and Geology Walk for Families at Ivy Creek Natural Area - Cya On The Road

Take a walk with Marilyn Smith, geologist, Virginia watershed educator and long-time Ivy Creek school guide as she leads a walk, especially for younger children, along the Red Trail to Martin's Branch and the reservoir.  Marilyn will talk a lot about water and rocks but will also talk about habitat, wildlife and how soil type affects which plants will grow in a place.  She will also do some collecting in the stream to test if it is healthy and talks about the reservoir and our water supply.  Starting at the Barn and heading down the red trail, this is a walk for all ages.Thank you to Bob Gore, Dede Smith and Catherine Boston for the use of photographs and to Dede Smith of Virginia Audio Adventures for technical help.
