Old Swedes Historic Burial Ground Tour

Hello and welcome to the Old Swedes Historic Site.This walking tour highlights the colonial farmhouse, historic church and burial ground.You can stop at any time and start again at the same spot later. You can follow the route on your phone or simply listen as I guide you from one site to the next.I’ll be giving you clear directions and the audio will automatically start playing when you get close to the next site on the tour.  Don’t worry if you need to skip a site as the tour will pick up at the next location.Just one more thing, always be aware of your surroundings and be sure to watch your step on some of our stone or gravel walkways.  Stop by our gift shop in the Hendrickson House. Feel free to rest and relax on any number of benches throughout the cemetery.Old Swedes Historic Site, a cornerstone of Wilmington since 1638, is a vital gathering place where residents and visitors explore the continuing history of the community surrounding the site and its people. We share these stories through tours, educational and public programs, exhibitions and archives, preserving an important National Historic Landmark and keeping the history of the site and neighborhood alive.Our site is open every Thursday through Saturday with hourly, guided tours on the hour from 11:00 am; our last tour at 3:00 pm.  Please enjoy your audio walking tour of our historic cemetery.
