The issue that I am going to talk about is the environmental history of Magnuson Park. Magnuson Park is built around the site of the former Naval Station Puget Sound. Originally, the Naval Station Puget Sound was a facility to train naval aviators. Deactivated in 1970, the hangars and other former military buildings still remain today. The topic I am going to talk about is how this former Naval Air Station became the Magnuson Park that we now know today. Today, Magnuson Park is a pillar in the Seattle community that provides fields, venues, boating docks, and more.
