Karmeliterviertel Walk

When taking a stroll through the Karmeliterviertel in the 2nd district, you will find a relaxed neighborhood with a Jewish history that is evident everywhere. A large proportion of Vienna’s Jewish population lived in the 2nd district up until the Holocaust. Today, the Karmeliterviertel is still the center of Jewish life in Vienna, with numerous kosher stores, restaurants, bakeries, butchers, schools and religious institutions.
