Shoreline Restoration at Seahurst Park - Cya On The Road

The issue I will be focusing on is environmental history. The location I have chosen is Seahurst Park, located in the city of Burien. My topic is shoreline restoration at Seahurst Park. When the park was developed many years ago, they created a seawall to help with any possible flooding issues. Fast forward 25 years later, and we see the restoration of the shoreline. The seawall that had been around the shoreline damaged habitats such as salmon. Seawalls were also unsustainable. They were hard to maintain and very expensive. Due to the efforts of many organizations, funding became available to help restore habitats and have the connection between the forest and the water more accessible. A lot went into restoring the shoreline, and with my interpretive talk, I want to highlight what parts of the restoration that were successful to bring awareness of what other locations can do to restore their own shorelines.
