This walking tour celebrates the bicentennial of the Old College building and was designed to accompany the Old College Exhibition of Spring 2025. While the tour does describe some of the architectural features of the Old College building, it also places the building within the context of the larger Old College Historic District and sheds light on the longer history of this important area in Newark.The Old College Historic District includes six buildings (Old College, Recitation Annex, Recitation Hall, Alumni Hall, Elliott Hall, and Mechanical Hall). This walking tour will take you to all of them, and will show where they have changed over time while the landscape and viewscapes surrounding them have also changed.
