Between the land of the sea and the land, Châtelaudren occupies the Leff valley. With its variations around granite, water and metal, the Little City of Character is at the same time a historic town, a place of relaxation around water and a site with an astonishing industrial heritage.According to the Chronicle of Saint Brieuc, its name comes from the Breton kastell (castle) and Audren, a legendary leader of the Bretons of Armorica who ascended the throne in 445, probably son of Solomon I of Armorica, who is said to have built a motte feudal around 447 between the current city and the pond of Châtelaudren. Audren is nevertheless very probably the name of a small local lord, founder of the town in the 11th century.The Châtelaudren Heritage interpretation circuit will help you discover the history and architecture of the town.Embark on a walk of around 1h30 (2.5km) departing from the tourist office.
