Mirandela is a Portuguese city located in the sub-region of Terras de Trás-os-Montes, belonging to the region of Norte and the district of Bragança.It is the seat of the municipality of Mirandela, which has a total area of 658.96 km2[1], 21,384 inhabitants[2] in 2021 and a population density of 32 inhabitants per km2, subdivided into 30 parishes[3]. The municipality is bordered to the north by the municipality of Vinhais, to the east by Macedo de Cavaleiros, to the southeast by Alfândega da Fé, to the south by Vila Flor, to the southwest by Carrazeda de Ansiães and Murça and to the west by Valpaços.
