ResiRiver study pilot Rhône

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) address societal challenges through the protection, sustainable management, and restoration of ecosystems, benefitting biodiversity and human well-being. In the context of climate change, this nature-based approach to solving societal challenges becomes increasingly important.The EU Interreg project ResiRiver aims to upscale and mainstream NbS, and achieves this through learning from the implementation of NbS in physical pilots and by looking at best practices from selected study pilots. This digital excursion focuses on the study pilot in the Rhône near Lyon. The Rhône River Restoration Program has implemented NbS since 1990.During this program, many valuable experiences regarding the implementation of NbS and stakeholder involvement processes, including their aims, methods, and outcomes, have been gained. This digital excursion aims to share this knowledge and experience.
