Along the Roads of Death in Bessarabia

The "Along the Roads of Death in Bessarabia" project is implemented by The Agudat Israel Moldova with the support of The Claims Conference, the German Federal Ministry of Finance, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, and the Matanel Foundation, in partnership with the Elie Wiesel National Institute for Studying the Holocaust in Romania, the Museum of History of the Jews in Moldova and the Institute of Oral History of Moldova.We would like to especially highlight the project team: Dr. N. Grinfeld, the Halpern family (USA-Israel), Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova, brothers Kon, I. Shlenker (USA), the Zelvenski family, and the mayoralties of the villages of Varatic, Ghincăuți, Cupcini, Terebna.The list of localities presented in this project is not exhaustive. The choice of these localities was made taking into account the existence of monuments and memorial signs regarding the Holocaust. The purpose of presenting these localities is not scientific, but memorial. Those who wish to delve deeper into the Holocaust on the territory of the Republic of Moldova are invited to follow the indicated bibliography.
