Bay Run: The Ultimate Guide to Sydney’s Most Popular Route
Welcome to Bay Run, Sydney's best kept secret and one of the city's most scenic routes. You are about to embark on a 7 kilometre journey around Iron Cove Bay, passing through the inner-western suburbs of Rozelle, Lilyfield, Haberfield, Five Dock and Drummoyne. Along the way you will enjoy picturesque views of the Parramatta River, historic landmarks, parks and playgrounds, cafes and restaurants and, of course, the friendly locals who share this route with you.
The Bay Run is suitable for walkers, joggers, runners, cyclists and even roller skaters of all ages and abilities. It is mostly flat with designated lanes for pedestrians and cyclists. It is also wheelchair and pram friendly, making it accessible to everyone. Whether you want to challenge yourself with a fast pace, take it easy with a leisurely stroll or stop and explore the attractions along the way, Bay Run has something for you.
This self-guided audio tour will give you some interesting facts and stories about the Bay Run and its surroundings. You can start anywhere along the route, but I recommend starting at Timbrell Park where there is plenty of parking. The tour takes you around the bay in a anti-clockwise direction, but you can also go clockwise if you prefer.
